Generika Drugstore reaffirms its commitment to provide Filipinos access to quality and affordable generic medicines as it celebrates 19th Founding Anniversary and Generics Awareness Month
SEPTEMBER 2022 - GENERIKA DRUGSTORE fully understands that getting basic healthcare has always been a struggle for most Filipinos, as taking care of one's health and well-being could be financially burdensome.
This understanding is at the core of its founding mission of providing Filipinos access to safe, quality, and affordable generic medicines and health care essentials. For over nineteen years the company has been at the forefront of making quality medicines accessible to the public by offering affordable generic alternatives. Through its network of community drugstores nationwide, it has helped expand access to quality and affordable generics, helping bridge the healthcare gap in the country, and promoting "Ginhawang Generika para sa lahat."
This sense of security and relief is greatly felt by Fanny Abundabar, a retired teacher who regularly visits Generika Drugstore when she needs to replenish her stock of medicines.
Generika Drugstore offers a wide range of generic medicines that can provide savings of up to 85% compared to their branded counterparts.

Generika Drugstore celebrates 19th founding anniversary
To celebrate its 19th Founding Anniversary, Generika Drugstore conducted a Nationwide Libreng Konsulta with partner doctors across its store network last September 17.
“There is no better way to celebrate our anniversary than to be with our customers and provide them access to free consultation services with our partner doctors across our store network today. This is our way of giving back for their support all these 19 years,” remarked Atty. Yet Abarca, President and CEO of Generika Drugstore.
Libreng Konsulta is one of Generika Drugstore's PLUS Services in its holistic approach of promoting the overall health and well-being of its customers. Its stores regularly offer scheduled free medical consultations with partner doctors. This program has allowed Generika Drugstore customers to regularly consult a doctor, update their prescriptions and take proactive steps in managing their health.

Generika Drugstore marks Generics Awareness Month with DOH
Apart from celebrating its founding anniversary this September, Generika Drugstore also joined the Department of Health (DOH) in celebrating Generics Awareness Month. Simultaneous with its Nationwide Libreng Konsulta, the company held an event at its store in Signal Village, Taguig City, supported by the DOH and AC Health, to reaffirm its commitment and resolve to continue to be at the forefront of educating the public about, and providing them access to, generics.
At the event, Atty. Abarca lauded the DOH for recognizing the need for increased public awareness of generics. "We are one with the Department's conviction that optimizing the use of generic medicines is one way to sustain access to quality and affordable essential medicines and to reduce out-of-pocket spending, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Universal Healthcare agenda. This is core to the vision and mission of Generika Drugstore, and we stand ready to work with the DOH in this advocacy," she said.
This was seconded by AC Health President and CEO, Mr. Paolo Borromeo, who referred to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s thrust to lower drug prices and expand access to generics. "We share this advocacy with the President, and we continue to broaden our network of Generika stores across the country to deliver more affordable, quality generic medicines to more communities," he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Aleli Sudiacal, Assistant Regional Director of the DOH Center for Health Development - National Capital Region, thanked Generika Drugstore for being a valued partner of the DOH. She acknowledged how the company heeded the call and rallied behind the government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. She also recognized one of Generika's most significant contributions in allowing its pharmacists to be trained as vaccinators.
