Generika Drugstore joins tree planting activity

Generika Drugstore joined hands with the Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) – Manila Chapter in a tree-planting activity dubbed as "Oplan Broadcastreeing," on October 1 at Barangay San Andres in Tanay, Rizal.

Generika Drugstore provided first aid station during the said event. Before the start and after the tree planting activity, the participants availed themselves of free blood pressure monitoring.

Furthermore, Generika Drugstore distributed alcohol bottles for the use of approximately 1,000 volunteer participants that included contingents from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), UP and Ateneo mountaineers, De La Salle and POVEDA students, as well as local residents.

Generika employees and volunteers also took part in laying the seedlings into the slopes of Kaliwa Watershed in Barangay San Andres, which is part of the Sierra Madre mountain range. An estimated 10,000 mahogany seedlings and other indigenous trees were planted in the site on that particular day alone.

The Oplan Broadcastreeing is a nationwide and simultaneous tree planting activity spearheaded by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Similar tree-planting activities were conducted in other 27 designated sites throughout the country that aim to support Executive Order 26 or the National Greening Program of the DENR which has a target of planting 1.5 billion trees by 2016.

Generika Celebrates 8th Anniversary with Medical Mission

Around 2,850 indigent patients from different barangays and nearby areas of Brgy. Commonwealth in Quezon City benefited from the medical mission conducted by Generika Drugstore at the covered court of Benigno Aquino Jr. Elementary School (BAJES) on September 24.

In partnership with the Kasangga Mo ang Langit Foundation (KMLF) and various pharmaceutical suppliers, the medical mission was the highlight of Generika Drugstore's 8th anniversary celebration themed "Alaga ka sa Generika!" Through the combined efforts of 60 doctors and a total of 132 volunteers including Generika employees, trainees, BAJES teachers, KMLF volunteers, and barangay officials, the medical mission was a huge success from start to finish catering patients with various medical services.

Free medical consultation, diagnostic and laboratory tests such as Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), Random Blood Sugar (RBS), Body Mass Index (BMI), bone density screening, and electrocardiogram (ECG) were among the services provided for the patients that included senior citizens, adults, and children.

The patients also availed themselves of free medications for common ailments and diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, cough and colds, fever and pain, gastrointestinal problems, and more. Patients were also given free vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements.

Generika was grateful for the opportunity to serve and extend help to the residents who needed immediate medical attention but barely have the means to afford the cost of consultation fees and medicines.

According to Mr. Teodoro Ferrer, president of Erikagen, Inc., the company behind Generika Drugstore: "the program aims to make medical services available to everyone." This is the reason why Generika is bringing its medical mission activities in different localities especially where there is a Generika branch nearby.

In the store level, Generika also conducts free consultation or "Libreng Konsulta" on a per-schedule basis to deliver medical services to residents who are in dire need of medical attention and to contribute to the social development of the community.

Anchored on Generika's objective of providing community services, this year's medical mission serves as a testament to its commitment in fulfilling the company's social responsibility to its countrymen.

Last year, Generika Drugstore held its anniversary medical mission at Cupang Elementary School in Muntinlupa where thousands of patients received free medicines and a range of medical services.

Generika would like to thank everyone who participated in this medical mission and contributed to its success.

Generika is looking forward to many more glorious and blessed years as it continues to publicly serve the people and fulfill its mission to the community.

Generika opens door for drugstore and pharmacy owners to join its network

In 2011, Generika rolls out its "drugstore conversion" program that opens opportunity for franchisees or independent drugstore owners to convert to a Generika Drugstore.

Existing drugstores or pharmacies, whether start-ups or been around drugstores operating for many years, can avail of the program. Small players or affiliates of other drugstore chains are likewise welcome to join Generika. They can enjoy a discounted franchise fee by Php50K that is from P150K down to P100K, and can expect significant savings on store renovation, working capital, and other incurring expense outlays since they are already fully operational.

Another benefit of converting to a Generika Drugstore is the opportunity to utilize its system that is powerful, customized, easy to use and efficient. Generika's Retail Expert, the propriety Point of Sale (POS) software, lets the drugstore owner or franchisee manage the store efficiently. It is fully integrated with the head office system that allows ordering and inventory of stocks without difficulty, and gives a detailed daily sales report for monitoring purposes.

What's more, the Generika head office provides marketing and operations support for the store to help with its promotional efforts and in achieving target sales.

Against the backdrop of market uncertainty and the many changes taking place in the drugstore industry today, the Generika conversion program offers a great opportunity for drugstore businesses to consider this pioneering approach of the company.

Generika Drugstore offers more affordable investment package in 2011

In line with its objective to increase the number of Generika franchise stores, Generika Drugstore recently launched an improved package for 2011 that will significantly reduce the investments in opening a Generika outlet.

The company is able to bring down the cost of various components of the franchise package by a total of P260K of which 200K corresponds to the consigned inventory of medicines. Generika does not impose an interest to the franchisee for the repayment of the consigned inventory, which starts after six months, or once the store hits a certain level of sales. The balance of P60K is a result of better prices from suppliers and other measures taken to provide discounts.

To further abate the cost of the franchisees that would avail of an additional franchise, Generika introduces two new franchise packages – satellite and drugstore conversion. The satellite package is offered to franchisees who would like to have another branch near his/her main outlet. On the other hand, the drugstore conversion package applies to existing pharmacies that wish to convert to a Generika Drugstore. While the standard franchise fee is maintained at P150K for 2011, it is lowered to P50K and P100K for satellite and drugstore conversion respectively.

From the previous total cash outlay estimated at P1.5 million to open a Generika drugstore, the revised total investment is now estimated to range from P600k to 1.2million only.

We feel that this new package offers superior value, especially considering that it also includes two PCs with complete peripherals in a network environment, and the software Retail expert, the proprietary point of sale system of Generika, fully integrated with the head office systems, and which is constantly being enhanced to help manage the store efficiently.

Of course, actual costs vary depending on the size/condition of the store, prevailing rental rates, construction costs and other expenses that would increase the total investment.

Generika will continue to provide marketing support and assistance, like what it has been consistently doing in the past years. This is to help new stores in their promotional efforts, especially in those areas where Generika is just starting to thrive.

With the improved franchise package, getting a Generika Franchise is now easier and more affordable!

These perks are valid for 2011 only. Act now!

For more details of the new franchise package, call the Generika Franchising Services Corp., at 824-4685 / 0922-8984982 or send an email at franchise_generika@yahoo.com to get started today!
